Back to School on 13th September

Ready for their first day at school13 September 2007 is the first day back at school for many after the long, long summer holidays. Pupils will probably see it as unlucky thirteen as they struggle out of bed after months of sleeping in, and prepare their bags for the first morning of classes. I expect there will be a few last minute hurried pages of homework too.

For all the 6-year-olds it will be the very first day of school, so good luck to all of them!
Parents gather to collect children after first day backAs usual, schools will be starting off on a reduced timetable, some of the middle school classes only going in for a couple of hours on their first day. The "definitive" timetables will be ready to get underway by the beginning of October when families with both parents working will heave a sigh of relief!
