Associazione Culturale Livorno delle Nazioni

LdNLdNThe Livorno delle Nazioni cultural association was officially registered on 30th September 2011 by its five founding members, Matteo Giunti (President), Stefano Ceccarini (Vice-president), Sarah Thompson (Secretary/treasurer), Francesco Ceccarini and Lisa Lillie.

The name of the association - Livorno delle Nazioni ('Livorno of Nations') - refers to the foreign communities present in Livorno from the mid-16th to the 19th centuries who lived and worked in the city, contributing greatly to its development.

Amaranta Service, cultural association

Amaranta ServiceAmaranta ServiceFounded in 1998, Amaranta Service organises a wide variety of cultural events and initiatives in the city of Livorno and the surrounding Province. These include guided tours, restoration projects, historical research, and educational visits. They also manage two of Livorno's small museums, Amedeo Modigliani's birthplace in Via Roma, and the Jewish Museum in Via Micali.

Amici Del Cinema at the Cinema Quattro Mori

The Amici del Cinema ('Friends of the Cinema') association was founded in 1991 by Alfredo Casarosa. The aim of the association is to show a programme of independent high-quality films, alongside mainstream films, at the Cinema Quattro Mori, with the possibility of discussing the various themes arising from the films with other movie enthusiasts in Livorno.

They meet up, usually at weekends, to go swimming all through the winter, starting the year with a New Year's Day dip at the Tre Ponti beach in Ardenza.

It aims to encourage and develop interest in art, beauty and the appreciation of beauty, intelligence and ancient arts and crafts.

Atelier delle Arti is a cultural association which promotes dance and all contemporary art forms. The association offers courses in dancing, singing, music and theatre.

It is also involved in promoting the visual arts, with courses in painting, trompe l'oeil, graphic arts and glass.
The centre was founded in 1985 by dancer Chelo Zoppi who runs and manages it.

Founded in 1994, the Vertigo cultural association now carries out a number of activities in Livorno, including courses in theatre and diction for children, teenagers and adults. The association also presents an annual programme of theatrical productions open to the general public. New in 2007 is a course dedicated to English through theatre, "Keats", in collaboration with the London School of Language and Drama and the British School of Livorno.
