This important exhibition celebrates the work of Livornese artist Giovanni Fattori on the 100th anniversary of his death in 1908. The exhibition takes place in the Granai of the Villa Mimbelli, the separate wing of Livorno's art gallery used for temporary exhibitions.

The Opening Night of the Cage Club summer season of music events at the Fortezza Vecchia, Livorno, featuring DJ set Dirty Vintage and I Licaoni. From 11.30pm til late.

As part of the Diversamente Liberi Festival, on Saturday afternoon in Piazza Cavour there will be a Percussion Workshop organised by the Senegalese Gruppo Djembe. 4pm.

In Piazza della Repubblica at about 6pm on Saturday there will be a re-enactment of the events which took place on 10th and 11th May 1849 when the Livornese took on the Austrian army. The groups taking place in the re-enactment, some from abroad, will be wearing historical costumes. The event will be repeated at 9.30pm at the Fortezza Nuova.

The last in the series of guided tours and walks organised by Amaranta Service and the Comune di Livorno. The films all come under the title “L’Italia allo Specchio – Visioni e Percorsi nel Cinema della Realtà”.Sorriso Amaro by Matteo Bellizzi - 2003, 54’Presented by Matteo Bellizzi After the war many girls were employed each year in the rice fields around Vercelli. The neo-realist film Riso Amaro made their stories known to the world thanks to the character played by Silvana Mangano. Fifty years later a young film maker from Vercelli takes the girls back to the rice fields, on a journey into the past, paying an emotional homage to the protagonists of a world that no longer exists.
