This makes a stop just outside the gates that lead into the cruise and ferry terminal area. The stop is known as the Stazione Marittima. From here it is a very short walk, through the port barrier and across to the Cruise Terminal which is where the MSC ships dock.

The 101 Bus Service

My wife and I used this Bus service in Oct 2009 to enable us to join our cruise in Livorno. The Bus service was excellent, especially when comparing the price of 2.30 Euros per passenger against the 60 Euros approximate total cost of a Taxi. Its cheaper to purchase the Bus ticket at the Information Desk in the Airport, then on the Bus, where you can also purchase your return tickets. Please be aware that as the Bus is a converted Coach, on which the luggage storage facilities under the seats are not available, there are approximately 6 steps from the ground to the seats that you have negotiate with your luggage. Also, as the luggage has to be kept on the floor of the Bus, it will need constant minding, otherwise it will spread over the floor, when the Bus goes around bends in the road. My special thanks to Sarah for  providing me with her valueable assistance, regarding this Bus service and providing me with the 2 photos shown on this page.
