Nigra, winning band in 2008 Livorno RockThe 2008 edition of the Livorno Rock competition came to an end on Monday 8th December when the final evening was held at The Cage in Livorno. The event, organised by the Pietro Napoli Association, saw ten finalists perform before the judges who, after careful consideration, declared Nigra from Reggio Calabria as the competition winners. The second prize was awarded to Aédi from San Severino Marche (Macerata), while third place was won by Labirinto Interno from Turin.

Several special awards were also made:
Sky Toscana Channel Prize to Eikasia from Trebaseleghe (Padua)
Canale 39TV Prize to Stem from Viareggio (Lucca)
The Cage Rock Club Prize to Livornese band Sixteen
Reporter TV Prize to Ossigeno from Lastra a Signa (Florence)

The Premio Shure for the best singer went to Celeste Carboni from the band Aèdi, the Premio Aria for best bass player went to Federico Del Guasta from the band Mhz from Pontedera (Pisa), the Premio Meinl for best drummer went to Andrea Bruciati from the band Stem, from Viareggio, the Premio Hugues & Kettner for the best guitarist went to Marco Martinez from Nigra (Reggio Calabria), the Premio Lady Rock went to Celeste Carboni (Aèdi), and the Premio Mister Rock to Alessandro Amato from Labirinto Interno (Turin). Finally, the best band as judged by the audience went to Kobra from Fucecchio (Florence).
