Livorno secure third place
Ascoli 2, Livorno 3
Sometimes in life you get more than you wished for: You find two four leaf clovers; Santa Claus gives you both the Boyzone and Take That CDs for Christmas that you scribbled onto your Christmas list; or Beyonce finally returns your call.
For Livorno fans this situation took place on the last game of the regular Serie B season. Not only did Livorno secure third place from Brescia, but their local rivals Pisa were relegated after a late goal against the same team. Pisa fans were so angry that about two hundred attacked the changing rooms after the match and since the result, Pisa Ultras have issued a statement saying that they don't want a pisa the action (piece of, geddit?) and that they do not think it is appropriate for the great sporting traditions of Pisa to have the national team play Northern Ireland next weekend. Let's hope the authorities lean on them.
Tavano cemented himself in first place in the leading scorers chart as he helped himself to another double. This came after Livorno had twice come from behind to equalise, before Tavano scored the winner in the 89th minute. The result gives the Amaranto a boost under the new coach for the play offs. Next week they vist Grosseto before entertaining the fellow Tuscans four days later. The winners will then play either Brescia or Empoli. Having despatched one Tuscan team already, Brescia seem to be the team to fear.

Submitted by vincent on Thu, 18/06/2009 - 20:43.I'm afraid I can't but I will be watching via a stream on my computer. A good 2-2 draw away last Sunday sets up a nailbiter this Saturday. I only hope Ale Diamante's back as we miss him so much when he's out.
I take it Mark will be there. Looking forward to a favourable report, fingers crossed.
FORZA LIVORNO!!
Miracle Needed.
Submitted by vincent on Wed, 10/06/2009 - 09:54.Livorno's season will probably end on Thursday night. My how this team has declined. Could it be possible Mr.Spinelli has masterminded this turnaround? Mr.Acori was doing such a good job until Serie A crept closer. Personally I don't think Spinelli wants Serie A football, either financially or because of over expectation from the fans. If that is the case then he should walk away and take what he can for the club. He is no longer in love with football.
Per favore,un miracolo.
Livorno 3rd.

As for Livorno it's fingers crossed. We've evened up the score as regards late goals getting results but I do feel a little bit more good luck will be required to see us through the next four games.
Glad for Tavano getting on the scoresheet (I know I've given him some stick this season) so credit where credit's due (just keep it going Cici).
I can't make any of the Grosseto games because of work so I'm looking forward to your reports Mark.
C'mon guys let's keep it going,
FORZA LIVORNO.

Miracle Provided.
