Local Schools involved in Livorno's Clean Up the World Campaign

24 September 2008 Five of Livorno's schools - one from each circoscrizione - have been chosen to take part in this year's local Clean Up the World campaign, locally known as Puliamo il Mondo.

The classes involved will be briefed about their tasks tomorrow morning (25 Sep), and on Friday will be out and about to take stock of the state of their environment. They will be asked to take photos of urban decay around their schools, including illegal dumps, abandoned motorcycles, dangerous road crossings and holes in the roads and pavements.

Their findings will be reported on 6th October 2008 during the D-Day, Scartiamo La Città project.

The weekend of 27th September will also see local citizens involved in clearing up Livorno, removing rubbish in particular from two local areas, the beach next to the Naval Academy, and the area around the Ciano monument (see separate article)
