Museums closed on Mondays

For some reason State museums in Italy are generally closed on Mondays. This means, of course, that if you find yourself in Livorno on a Monday you will have to find an alternative activity to the museums listed below. You could try, for example, the city's food market for an insight into Italian food and the local people. Otherwise you could visit one of Livorno's many churches or take a walk along the seafront south towards the Naval Academy and the districts of Ardenza and Antignano.
