The Port of LivornoApril 2008. The Port of Livorno has launched a series of events to enable the population of Livorno to visit areas usually off-limits and to get a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes in the port which plays such an important role in the city of Livorno. It will also give people a chance to see all the new developments currently underway in the port.

Starting on the 1st March 2008 there will be a series of guided tours of the port every Wednesday and Saturday, three times a day at 9am, 11am and 3pm. The tours are free but a reservation should be made between 9.30-11.30am using one of the following numbers:

In addition to these guided tours, there will be an exhibition of photography entitled Il Porto e la sua Città, Livorno e il suo Porto from 23rd April to 17th May.

There will also be a series of television programmes about the Port of Livorno on local TV channel Telegranducato on 13th March, 27th March, 10th April, 24th April, and 8th May at 9.30pm.

The weekend of the 16th and 17th May will mark the end of the Porto Aperto and will include two days of events to be advised nearer to the time.
