Going to Pisa by Train from Livorno

The journey to Pisa only takes 15-20 minutes, trains are frequent, and it is cheap - only €1.90 each way per person.

Livorno to Pisa Bus Service

As an alternative to the train, the Livorno-Pisa route is also run by the CPT (Pisa bus company). 

The CPT bus service Livorno-Pisa takes about an hour because it goes via the small coastal towns of Tirrenia and Marina di Pisa (popular for their beaches in the summer).

This makes a stop just outside the gates that lead into the cruise and ferry terminal area. The stop is known as the Stazione Marittima. From here it is a very short walk, through the port barrier and across to the Cruise Terminal which is where the MSC ships dock.

Here is some info about the trains to Florence from Livorno. Doing it by yourself is usually cheaper than an organised tour, and you will have a few hours in Florence, but if you are on a cruise make sure you get back in time for the ship's departure!
