The Livorno branch of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is located in Via Corsica 27, (Circoscrizione 3) in the San Jacopo district of Livorno. The group has about 800 members in the Livorno area, including 20 active members, and meetings are held once a fortnight on Monday evenings at 9.30pm. Diego Guerri is President and Federico Pilo Vice-President of this local WWF branch.
The group's main aims are to promote the conservation of biodiversity, knowledge of the environment, and the sustainable use of resources. Activities in Livorno include the Butterfly Garden in Villa Regina (entrance in Borgo dei Cappuccini), an interesting case study of Livorno's disastrous Cycle Paths (see the website link below) as well as a calendar of educational trips to nearby places of natural interest.
