And yet the port city of Livorno is Tuscany’s third largest city after Florence and Prato, with a lively population of around 156,000 and an extremely favourable position on the Tuscan coast.

If your cruise ship docks at one of the industrial piers in the port of Livorno, there will be a cruise shuttle bus service into town (fee charged) which drops off and picks up in Via Cogorano, near Livorno town hall, just behind Piazza Grande. There is a Tourist Information Office  in the building that separates the Piazza del Municipio from Piazza Grande. Here you can pick up a map of Livorno and other information about the city.
