Photographer Alessio Zemoz, from Aosta in northern Italy, was awarded one of the special prizes at the Premio Combat 2015 and consequently won an artist residency in Livorno for two months. The results of the project developed by the artist during this period will be presented during this opening.
Zemos' research, entitled "Because my name is George", centres around the re-discovery of the Radiotelegraph Station in Coltano (Pisa Province) through the language of photography, with the aim of exploring the concepts of identity, memory and communication. the aim of the research is to recount an area via the language of photography, through the landscape, collective memory, and family images.

Alessio Zemoz, was born in the alpine town of Aosta in 1985. He studied photography at the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin. His work as active promoter of the culture of the contemporary image drew its initial inspiriation from the Valle d'Aosta where he lives and works. In 2009 Alessio founded the progettoSKIA, a permanent experimental laboratory dedicated to the mountains and to contemporary art photography. He is also the co-founder of Framedivision, a group active in the field of cinema through events, production and training. His most important works include Startwearing Life, 2010 / 2012, lo vaco – Il vuoto 2012 / 2014, AILATI, 2014, Un archivio del mio spazio, 2014, PALLIUM, 2015 and TEQUILA177, 2015.
