Fabio Mattolini

Fabio Mattolini, Blu 7, acrylic on wood Fabio Mattolini, Blu 7, acrylic on wood Fabio Mattolini was born in Livorno in 1966 and began painting and drawing at the age of 10 when he followed a course held by Gio’ di Batte, a local artist known for his still life painting. He continued to study under Di Batte until enrolling at the Libera Accademia Trossi-Uberti in Livorno in 1988. He later obtained diplomas in Creative Art at the Istituto d’Arte of Lucca and in Painting at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1992 under Gianfranco Notargiacomo (painter and important exponent of the Italian Informale movement. He continued his Florentine studies for a further two years at the Libera Accademia del Nudo.
Since 1990 Fabio has taken part in many exhibitions of Contemporary Art, including the Premio “Rotonda” in Livorno (1990), Premio “Etruriarte” in Venturina (1996), and a collective exhibition at Studio Logos, Rome (2001). He has had personal exhibitions at the Firenzart Gallery, Florence (2002), the Libreria Babilonia, Livorno (2002) and at Castello di Canneto, Pisa (2005).  He also exhibited his works as part of “Urban Italia” at I Bottini dell’Olio, Livorno (2007), premio “Chimera Arte”, Arezzo (2010), and in a personal exhibition at the La Telaccia gallery in Turin (2011).
He currently teaches Drawing and History of Art at the Liceo artistico “F. Cecioni”,  Livorno.
He lives and works in Livorno and has a studio in via Marradi 81.
